12/27/2023 0 Comments Mac painterly paint pot eye primer![]() Then ELF came out with these Putty Eye Primers and I was curious. I love how they cancel out any redness/veins on my lids and make my shadows pop and live up to their full potential. Keep on reading to find out what I think!Īs some of you probably know, I LOVE the MAC Paint Pots and have used Soft Ochre and Painterly as my eye base almost religiously for a long time. ![]() I’d seen some talk about this being a dupe for the MAC Paint Pots, and I wanted to try it for myself to see. I got a review for you all today on the ELF Putty Eye Primer. other powder eyeshadow as it is a true neutral.Īlso, I want to say I have been purchasing MAC since they first came to the US with Nordstrom (1989).Hey look at me trying to be better about uploading more often! It has no sparkle but doesn't give a matte dry look. Painterly- Good basic eye base or for those days when you want bare but not red eyelids. Overall here is the review of each color I have: I purchased three of these a couple of weeks ago after having previously tried some colors. Painterly is a bit drier than others for some reason though, I'm not sure why. If you're looking for a great primer with a little bit of pizazz, these are amazing!Love This but Painterly is Dryer than Others4So I love these and use them primarily as primers - they work like no other primer I've ever tried. It's great as a primer and also as a highlighting color - it's got a nice little bit of shimmer to it. I decided to try Bare Study during the Black Friday sale and absolutely love it. It's a must have in my household.Love Bare Study!5So I've used these paint pots as primers for several years but have always stuck with Soft Ochre and Painterly in the past. You need at least one but I promise you'll be back for more!Paint pot5I love using this before putting on any eyeshadows or just wearing bare. Bare Study is my all time favorite but I recently picked up Soft Ochre and it's great! I love that the color is buildable so it can be a light wash or bold and intense. I have oily skin, and they work well for me. When I use it as a base, it extends the wear of my eyeshadow. The synthetic brushes I have for some reason I hold on to the color and it applies unevenly.Īlso, I want to say I have been purchasing MAC since they first came to the US with Nordstrom (1989).Found a replacement for Lancome5Creamy, lightweight and I can use only this for natural look if need be.Great as eyeshadow or base5I've been using paint pots as an eyeshadow or eyeshadow base for years! The colors are beautiful and they never crease. I find a fingertip application gives the nicest result. I would say NONE of the colors have a coverage that is like a matte- say Blanc Type, but if you are a natural girl they should work okay for you and of course you can layer. I ordered all of these (except the Constructivist- which I guess was limited series) off the MAC Pro website. The color is a medium, sheer plum, but once again, it has those sparkles that you cannot seem to get off your face everywhere you touch. I like this, the color is more Champagne, but not too pink or yellow- once again right in the middle.įrozen Violet- While I like the color is is so sparkly someone that sees me everyday commented on it. I use this on its own, or as the base with a layer of anything else. ![]() Vintage Selection- Kind of reminds me of All that Glitters this paint pot has a sheer finish with gleam, not sparkles. This is the color that caused me to experiment with these things instead of powder eyeshadow. ![]() Works well under other powder eyeshadow as it is a true neutral.Ĭonstructivist- Great brown color that goes on beautifully with a finger tip and less so with a brush. It works better than other eyelid primers and even has a third effect as a under-eye concealer (not it's best function mind you, but in a pinch it gets the job done).Colors, texture coverage varyI purchased three of these a couple of weeks ago after having previously tried some colors. It creates a smooth base that hides any unwanted pigmentation or imperfections and helps all eyeshadow stick and be more vibrant. I now use that shade as my only eyelid primer. It wasn't till I tried the shade Painterly, however, that the product's full potential was revealed. Highly Versatile!Originally I purchased this in Constructavist to be a strong base colour for my darker shadows and it worked beautifully.
